Experience world-class snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef with Calypso Snorkel, departing daily from Port Douglas. This dedicated snorkelling vessel takes you to Opal Reef, where you can explore vibrant coral gardens and encounter a wide variety of marine life near the surface.
Snorkelling at Opal Reef is suitable for swimmers of all levels, allowing you to spot playful clownfish, green sea turtles, giant clams, stingrays, Maori wrasse, cods, and colourful parrotfish up close. The 21-metre Calypso vessel features comfortable daybed seating, spacious decks, and a professional, attentive crew for a unique and personalised experience.
The itinerary includes check-in from 07:00 to 08:20 at Crystalbrook Marina, Port Douglas, with boarding starting at 08:20. Relax with light refreshments as you're fitted with snorkel gear. Cruise to your first site from 08:45 to 10:10, enjoy an equipment briefing, and start snorkelling at 10:20, where morning tea is served. After moving to the second site from 11:50 to 13:30, join a guided snorkel tour and savour a tropical lunch, followed by a reef interpretive talk.
Visit the third site between 13:45 and 14:45 before cruising home, with return to the marina at approximately 16:15. Transfers to and from Port Douglas accommodation are available for a fee and require pre-booking.
