Green Island is a beautiful 6000-year-old coral cay located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park - a premier world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Aboard Great Adventures' fast catamaran from Cairns, your journey to the Great Barrier Reef takes only 45 minutes! Surrounded by a reef filled with diverse marine life, and home to a unique rainforest environment, Green Island awaits to provide you with a memorable holiday experience. Take part in all the activities that the island has to offer or relax on the beach and let your day unfold in this tropical paradise. Stroll through a magical rainforest, laze on white coral sand beaches, swim, dive or snorkel …There is a wide range of optional activities to experience on Green Island. Scuba dive, join a snorkel excursion, and even walk underwater with Seawalker helmet diving. For an exhilarating topside perspective of the reef, there's parasailing and scenic helicopter flights too! There's even the Marineland Melanesia Crocodile Habitat with daily crocodile shows. You can choose from 2 departure times from Cairns and Green Island. 08:00 or 10:00: Check in at the Great Adventures Reservations Counter inside the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal to obtain your boarding pass. Vessel boarding. Complimentary tea & coffee served until departure. 08:30 or 10:30: Depart for Green Island. A snorkelling demonstration and a Green Island Eco video presentation are shown en route to Green Island. 09:15 or 11:15: Arrive at Green Island Glass Bottom Boat Tour as scheduled: Book your tour time onboard with the crew or visit the Information Counter on the island. Glass bottom boat tours depart from the bend in the jetty. Activities at leisure: Snorkelling Equipment: Your snorkelling equipment can be collected from the island Dive Shop. Snorkelling equipment includes a mask, snorkel and fins. Buoyancy vests and optical masks are available for hire. A self-guided Eco Island Walk booklet can be obtained from the Information Counter. Swim and snorkel directly from the lifeguard-patrolled beach or take a dip in the Day Visitor Swimming Pool. Lunch and refreshments can be purchased from the island restaurant and food outlets. Optional Activities as scheduled. 14:30 or 16:30: Depart Green Island 15:20 or 17:20: Arrive at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal
