Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park – a premier world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Just 27km from the hub of Tropical North Queensland, Cairns, Green Island is a 45 minute journey across the Coral Sea with Great Adventures’ high speed catamarans. With its unique reef and rainforest environment, this beautiful island provides the one-stop tropical experience.

Green Island is the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef with a rainforest growing on it! It is home to 126 native plant species, colourful birdlife, surrounded by magnificent coral gardens and is some 15 hectares (approx 37 acres) in size.

With the choice of three daily departures, this Green Island cruise is perfect for visitors with limited time, offering a half or full day experience. With a range of exciting optional activities, you can even design your day at your own pace.

Seawalker Green Island
For an amazing underwater walking experience, let Seawalker’s expert guides show you the wonders of the reef as you stroll along Green Island lagoon’s sea floor. There’s no equipment to operate, non-swimmers welcome and you don’t even have to get your hair wet!

Green Island Parasailing
Take to the sky behind a powerboat with the excitement of parasailing and enjoy breathtaking views of Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef. No experience is necessary.

Introductory Diving
Scuba diving is the best way to see the reef and no experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive. Our professional and experienced instructors will guide you through every aspect of your dive, allowing you to have a relaxed, enjoyable experience.
Start your dive in the pool. It’s easy and fun!
If you are considering an introductory dive please see our dive crew on boarding the vessel or visit the Dive Shop on Green Island. Pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

Certified Diving
If you already have a dive certification, we will provide an experienced dive guide to ensure maximum enjoyment and safety while guiding you to the best sites.
Proof of certification is required C-card / log book.
