Daintree Rainforest Day Tour with Indigenous Experience

Daintree Rainforest is where the world's oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests meet the world's greatest living tropical reef, the Great Barrier Reef. Nowhere else on earth do two natural World Heritage-listed sites exist side by side. Such is the natural beauty and precious value of this truly stunning piece of paradise that you will have ample time to explore and enjoy on the Active Tropics Explorer Daintree full-day tour. Commence the adventure with a scenic coastal drive from Cairns to Port Douglas. This is the far north's very own great ocean road and provides panoramic views over the sparkling Coral Sea. Heading north, our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sector of the world-famous Daintree National Park. This gorge has been carved out by the cold mountain waters of the Mossman River, which winds through large granite boulders, bordered by lush green rainforest. It's a magical place and you'll participate in a "Welcome to Country" with the traditional owners, the Kuku Yalanji people, who will also cleanse you of evil spirits with a smoke ceremony. Your Guide will take you on an interpretative rainforest walk, and you have time for a swim. There is an opportunity for you to enjoy a refreshing swim in the cascading waters. Continuing north, you will join a Wildlife Cruise on the Daintree River, where you might see a crocodile, while learning about the fragile ecosystem of this impressive serpent-like river system. You are now on the north side of the Daintree River, where our guide will meet you for your next stop. A guided rainforest boardwalk, learn about he ancient flora and fauna that call this incredible ecosystem home. Discover the secrets of the world's oldest continually surviving rainforest as your guide shares fascinating insights into its unique plants, wildlife, and cultural significance. After your immersive rainforest walk, it's time to relax and refuel with a delicious lunch. Enjoy a meal surrounded by nature, taking in the sights and sounds of the Daintree as you recharge for the next part of your adventure. Pending time, we will stop at - the Daintree Ice Cream Co - where you can enjoy deliciously exotic fruit ice cream made on site, in small artisan style batches. Yum! [At own cost.] Then it's back on the bus for the return journey to Cairns.
